Next up: Present cakes!

Inspired by T&C. I call it Tan&Co. lol!

This is the cake for my "sugar and spice" themed party.

21st traffic themed cupcakes

The final product! Our very own 21st cupcakes on a stand with a 300g moist chocolate cake at the top!
Close-up on the cupcakes. Much attention was paid to the cupcakes, from the deco to the icing. Each one of them is different!
Coloured jelly (according to the traffic light colours, red, amber and green) with cocktail fruits. Add a little fun to the party food!:D
DJ spinning area separated by a "road" made out of garbage bags and masking tape!

Its a pity that most of the pictures of this party were lost when my computer crashed! So all I can do now is to put it into words and you'll imagine. Well, starting for the decorations of the place, there were posters of vehicles and traffic sign. We even made a blinking traffic light out of cardboard, cellophane paper and christmas lights (the ones you put around your christmas trees). Lights were dimmed and the place was litted up with candle lights and disco ball lighting. All the tables had coloured tablecloths on (the 3 colours of the traffic light). Plates and utensils were also in the 3 primary colour! In addition, everyone dressed according to theme.

So you can imagine the whole night of RED, AMBER & GREEN!

Preheating the oven..

I had to dig out my basic driving theory book to refer! Spent lotsa time on these little traffic signs, messing around with chocolate and icing :)
I love birthdays! and definitely birthday cake is always the centre of attention! Do away with those boring standard cakes you take away from some random cakeshop. Put some thought into it, and customise one! Of course, you can always get some help and ideas HERE.:)

So the cuppycakes you see above were done a year ago for my boyfriend's 21st birthday party, to go along with his theme, "traffic light". The theme may sound rather strange but it's a pretty good idea to avoid social awkwardness and embarassment of rejection during the party. Have you ever chat up with someone in a party, only to find out that he/she is attached?! And felt like you wasted half of your life?! (of course, not assuming that everyone has that intention. haha..) So, just like how the traffic light manages the traffic, wearing the colours of the traffic light (red, amber and green) indicates if you want others to "approach", "approach with caution" or "STOP".

Here's only the sneaks to fish your appetite. I'll be back to update more on the final product :D
